Choose Not in the mood, Too long right now, or Just want another choice. The book stays on your TBR but is excluded from picks for 14 days, then becomes eligible again if it matches your filters and series order. Not in the mood gently favors variety in length, tags, or genres for the next pick. It never excludes a whole genre. This does not change your saved reading preferences. Use On hold separately for a library wait.

Earlier books marked Want to reread, or currently being reread, come before later books in the series. Past reread counts do not override your current queue. If you queue books 1–3 and already read 4–6, you can reread 1, then 2, then 3 before moving on to unread book 7. You do not need to queue 4–6 again. This applies to every series: if you queue only 1, 3, and 6, those rereads become eligible in that order without requiring the skipped books.

This optional section tells Taste picks what you want more or less of in future books. It is about your reading taste, not another rating for the book you just read.

Suggest from my reflection looks for a limited set of phrases in the Reader reflection you wrote. For example, “I loved the characters” can suggest strong characters → More like this. It does not understand every sentence, so check each suggestion: choose More like this or Less like this, or remove it if it is wrong.

You can also type something such as “cozy” into Add a preference, tap Add, and choose more or less. You do not need a written reflection to add one yourself. Tap Save changes on the book to keep your preferences. To change them later, reopen that book, edit or remove the preference, and save again.

Taste picks combines these saved preferences with your ratings and matching tags on eligible books, including tags shared by other NRR readers. More increases a match’s chances; less lowers them. These are preferences, not guarantees or strict exclusions, and missing tags can limit matching. They do not change Random picks.

Your saved preferences are private to your account and are not contributed as community tags. The Reader reflection itself keeps its separate public publishing behavior, as labeled in that section. You can skip preferences entirely and keep using NRR normally.

Quick Win favors shorter eligible books within the same format, approachable pacing, standalones, and familiar series. Your priorities also help guide the choice.

Reading Slump looks at the books you actually enjoyed—Favorites, highly rated finishes, positive reactions, and rereads—then favors a lower-commitment choice from your eligible TBR. It does not choose your favorite genre by counting unread books.
